10 questions we hear about print projects
Every great print project starts with a few questions. Taking time to plan ahead makes the entire process smoother, from the first proof to the final delivery.
At Wooster Color Point, our team has helped clients bring a wide range of ideas to life, from event pieces and business materials to custom signage. Over the years, we’ve learned which questions make the biggest difference in achieving a polished result. Here are ten of the most common ones, along with clear answers to help guide your next project.
1. How far in advance should I place my order?
Project timelines can vary depending on quantity, materials, and finishing needs. The best approach is to reach out to Heather early so we can map out a schedule that fits your goals. If your timeline is tight, we may be able to accommodate your print. Please reach out so we can talk.
2. Can your team help with design?
Yes, our design specialists can create printed materials that look professional and polished. We can refine existing artwork or create new designs that highlight your brand and deliver a clean, cohesive look.
3. What file format is best for printing?
We recommend a high-quality PDF or packaged design files from Adobe programs such as Illustrator or InDesign. These formats retain fonts, images, and layout details for the most accurate print results.
4. Do you check for typos?
Our team reviews every file for general layout and formatting consistency. While we keep an eye out for anything that looks off, the final proofreading should come from your team to ensure every word is exactly as intended.
5. How will I review a proof?
Every project includes a digital proof for your review before printing begins. For pieces that require precise color matching, we are happy to provide a hard proof so you can see the outcome before full production starts.
6. What paper options are available?
We carry a variety of materials, from smooth matte finishes to heavier specialty stocks. Tell us the tone or purpose of your project, and we will guide you toward the best paper for the look and feel you want.
7. Can you match my brand colors exactly?
Yes. We use the Pantone Matching System (PMS) to keep your brand consistent. One of our presses also includes a fifth color unit, which means we can run a dedicated ink for your brand color or add an aqueous coating for protection and a professional finish.
8. Do you deliver or ship orders?
We offer local delivery in the Wooster area and nationwide shipping through trusted carriers like UPS and FedEx. You are also welcome to stop by and pick up your order in person.
9. What if I need a reprint later?
We'd be happy to help. Simply contact us when you are ready, and we will get your design into our project queue.
10. Can you help with nonprofit or bulk projects?
Yes, we can help you take advantage of nonprofit and bulk postage rates to reduce mailing costs. We are always happy to assist with setup and coordination to make the process easier.
